As a power electronic device, the main function of photovoltaic inverters is to convert the DC generated by photovoltaic modules into AC. There are thousands of electronic components inside, and most of them are heat source devices, so the heat dissipation has a significant impact on the lifespan of the inverter.
In order to lower the temperature of components in the inverter faster and ensure a longer service life of the components, it’s sensible to design an integral shell that is in close contact with the radiator, making the shell an important component of the system's heat dissipation. The improvement of heat dissipation performance and high shell temperature are normal phenomena in the operation of the inverter.
There will be a sense of warmth when the apparent temperature of the human body is about 36 degrees; a burning sensation around 45 degrees; burning pain when long term contact at around 50 degrees; burns when long term contact at 60 degrees can cause.
Due to the need for heat dissipation and the special nature of the working environment (outdoor direct sunlight) of the inverter, safety standards stipulate that the temperature of the inverter shell cannot exceed 70 degrees. When the external environment temperature is 40 degrees in summer, the shell temperature is generally between 55 degrees and 60 degrees. Therefore, when people touch the inverter shell, they will feel hot, but it will not cause burns.
